Niko Balkaran is a master’s candidate at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY in the heart of Times Square, NYC. There he is in the Business and Economics Reporting concentration.

Niko has had a passion for all things news since he was five years old. He enjoys covering a wide range of beats from arts and culture to schools and video games. He is also a licensed drone pilot.

Niko currently serves as the treasurer of Newmark’s chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) and the South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA).
